Extraction Quality Vermicompost
Vermicompost is a dark mixture of worm castings (worm manure), organic material, bedding in various stages of decomposition, living redworms, redworm eggs and cocoons. A single gram of high-quality Vermicompost contains over 1 billion beneficial soil microorganisms! Another unique component of Vermicompost is humus. Just like the humus found in our HUMIFIED COMPOST products, this complex material is formed during the breakdown of organic matter and contains humic acid which provides many binding sites for plant nutrients. These nutrients are stored in the humic acid molecule in a form readily available to plants and are released when the plants require them.
The Vermicompost that we produce here at Full Circle Compost is a high-quality, EXTRACTION GRADE VERMICOMPOST. First, all of the feedstocks that our worms receive have already been thermophyllically composted, thus providing another measure of pathogen prevention. Second, our Vermicompost is produced in flow-thru bins, thereby avoiding contamination of our finished product with new feedstuffs. These measures provide a "triple control" over pathogenic organisms and, in fact, our vermicompost has NEVER tested positive for E. Coli, Salmonella, or Coliforms!
After harvesting, we dry and screen the product, making our superior quality, EXTRACTION QUALITY VERMICOMPOST suitable for use in aerobic compost tea brewers.
