40th Earth Day Celebration Circle April 25, 2010
April 25th : 9am - 5pm @ Idlewild Park in Reno, NV
On April 22, 1970, an estimated 20 million Americans took to the streets, parks, and auditoriums to demonstrate for a healthy, sustainable environment.
Earth Day 1970 achieved a rare political alignment, enlisting support from Republicans and Democrats, rich and poor, city slickers and farmers, tycoons and labor leaders. The first Earth Day led to the creation of the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the passage of the Clean Air, Clean Water, and Endangered Species acts.
To commemorate the historic and internationally-recognized event, Nevada EcoNet has created a 40th Earth Day Celebration Circle. Each person and business in our community is invited to participate in this very special celebration, where the only costs to participate is a donation of $40 and a desire to make a difference in the health of our environment.
Nevada EcoNet, host of the local Earth Day Celebration, is administering
the donations and will publicly recognize members of this very special
Celebration Circle. Donors may be listed on the EcoNet website, www.nevadaeconet.org,
at our Earth Day Celebration on April 25, 2010 and will receive complimentary
admission to all pre- and post- Earth Day promotions. 100% of the proceeds
go directly towards enhancing efforts to improve our community’s
environmental landscape, beginning with providing difference-making resources
and information.
